Principal's Message

Welcome to Lloyde Continuation High School—A Model Continuation School!

It is a true honor to serve as the Executive Director of Educational Options and to join the outstanding team here at Lloyde. Over the past 20 years in Centinela Valley, I’ve had the privilege of working with passionate educators, counselors, staff, and administrators who are deeply committed to student success. I bring that same commitment into this new chapter with enthusiasm and purpose.

As a Model Continuation High School, Lloyde exemplifies the very best of what alternative education can offer—personalized learning, student-centered practices, and a focus on equity, opportunity, and transformation. Our school is a place where students find belonging, access targeted support, and are empowered to pursue both academic and personal growth.

Our students are resilient, full of potential, and capable of achieving great things. At Lloyde, we are united in our mission to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive—not just in school, but in life. Guided by a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), we focus on three interconnected areas: academic achievement, social-emotional wellness, and positive behavior development.

A vital part of our school culture is built on CARES, our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework. CARES—Commitment, Attitude, Respect, Encouragement, and Safety—shapes our interactions and expectations, fostering a positive, inclusive environment where students feel seen, heard, and valued.

I believe that lasting success is rooted in meaningful relationships and shared responsibility. I am committed to partnering with students, families, staff, and the wider community to continue strengthening the systems that support every learner.

We will continue to work together to ensure that every student’s goal is within reach, every challenge is met with support, and every success is celebrated as a community. At the heart of our work is student success and engagement. Our goal is to ensure every student leaves Lloyde fully prepared for their next chapter—whether that path leads to the military, a career, or college.

I look forward to listening, learning, and leading with you. Together, we will continue to make Lloyde a place where students are restored, empowered, and inspired to succeed.

Warmly,

Dr. Rosalyn Varee
