Academic Science B Contract

BEHAVIOR REQUIREMENTS:
1. Be prepared and be on task daily. Have all materials out and be ready to work.
Complete one or more assignments each class period.
2. Be respectful. No electronics: phone, music, etc. They will be confiscated. No
talking, texting, using profane language, insulting others or other activities that
interfere with learning process.
3. Be honest. No cheating, copying or plagiarism (using another’s work as your own).
You will receive a zero on assignment and may lose credit for class.
4. Be responsible-no tagging or activities destructive to school property.
5. Students who do not follow behavior requirements will have disciplinary consequences
that include conferences, seating changes, phone calls home, referral to counselor or
principal and/or removal from class.
GRADING SYSTEM: 100-90 = A, 89-80 = B, 79-70 = C
You must complete all the work listed below. You are required to complete one section a week to stay on schedule. You may also complete one additional section per week and finish the course early. If you do not stay on schedule you will be removed from the class.
REQUIRED ASSIGNMENTS:
Chapter Walk -
Write the section number and title (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. or major sub headings), then
Put the main idea and details into your own words.
Vocabulary definitions must be written out. Rewrite the question or use complete
sentence for the answer and show any work you did to get the answer (if applicable) \
for all required questions.
Test must be taken in order and after finishing each Chapter. You must score 70% on
the tests for each chapter and for the unit. Tests are closed book. You can use your
Notes and homework on tests.

Silent Sustained Reading Logs must be completed daily. These will be graded and averaged in to final grade. This is the easiest way to bring up grade.
